The Louisiana Kosher Committee
was founded in 1997 by all of the New Orleans Orthodox Rabbis with Rabbi Yossie Nemes as our coordinator.

New Orleans Restaurants and Hotel Functions:

The LKC serves the NOLA Jewish Community by certifying two restaurants as kosher.

Kosher Cajun Restaurant and Grocery
3520 N. Hullen Ave., Metairie - 504-888-2010.

Casablanca Middle-Eastern Restaurant
3030 Severn Ave., Metairie, 504-888-2029.

Kosher Certification of Food plants:

LKC certification is accepted by all the national agencies.

We kosher-certify numerous establishments and we specialize in chemical plants and the transportation industry.  For a list of companies currently using LKC certification, please e-mail kosher@jewishlouisiana.com.  We can provide a Kosher consultation for your plant, at a minimal fee (refundable if you sign an agreement with LKC), enabling you to decide if and how kosher certification is for you!

Referrals to national Kosher agencies:

Sometimes your business might be better served with a national Kosher agency. We can help guide you by recommending the appropriate agency for your needs.  In most cases, we will still be the supervising agency on behalf of the Kosher agency.

Hotels and special functions:

We supervise kosher functions at many area hotels.

LKC is active in the state of Louisiana, southern Mississippi and the entire Gulf coast our
