Dear Friend This week, Chanie and I bring you greetings from Israel, where we will be spending Shabbat in Jerusalem. On our way, we spent Wednesday in Paris, and were badly shaken to hear about what happened in Nice the next day. Our hearts and prayers go out to the people of France as they deal with this horror. This Shabbat, we will be praying at the Kotel for peace
and prosperity for our community, and for a badly shaken world. Our first day here, it was great to meet some of our friends from New Orleans, both New Orleanians who now live in Israel, as well as Israelis who came to New Orleans for medical care and formed such close friendships in our community. Over the next few days we plan to meet with tens of Israelis who spent time working in New Orleans and greatly miss our wonderful community. Every
time we land in Israel it is like coming back to our childhood home, renewing our soul connection between the Jewish people and Israel. It is a unique experience, unlike visiting any other country. This Sunday evening at Chabad House, Uptown, there will be a special program, exploring just this connection. “With Love From Israel” is a workshop that will be facilitated by Rabbi Eliyahu Rivkin of Southern California, and I
